Construction of Fellowship Center Building

Construction of the Fellowship Center foundation began with the undercutting of 14" of soil, followed by backfilling with 400 cubic yards of sand. This will give the new building a firm, dry, stable foundation. Next, the concrete piers were poured, and forms were placed for the footings along all sides of the eventual slab. Conduits were placed in the foundation slab for future plumbing, electrical and communications lines. The integrated foundation and slab were poured on March 2nd; more photos of 'concrete day' are here. Further construction events are outlined below.

March 14th - A pair of cranes were used to erect more of the roof structure, much to the delight of the preschool kids.

May 16th - Roof completed except ridge, brickwork underway on south side, parking lot gravel being spread.

Windows, front doors installed
June 3rd - Brick nearly complete, windows & front glass doors installed, driveway nearly done.

June 20th - Brick complete, windows & doors installed, utilities ready to connect.

July 27th - Exterior complete: Hood vents installed, stucco applied, light poles installed, electricity connected.
Exterior complete; sidewalks being poured
August 9th - columns installed; sidewalks being poured.
Project 'substantially complete'
October 15th - building 'substantially complete' and in YPC possession.
Finished building with landscaping
November 18th - project completed with landscaping installed
