This page reports on the progress to build a new Fellowship Center at
Yorkminster Presbyterian Church's campus in Yorktown,
Virginia.

| Construction of the Fellowship Center foundation began with the undercutting of 14" of soil, followed by backfilling with 400 cubic yards of sand. This will give the new building a firm, dry, stable foundation. Next, the concrete piers were poured, and forms were placed for the footings along all sides of the eventual slab. Conduits were placed in the foundation slab for future plumbing, electrical and communications lines. | March 6th - First cinder block wall, between great hall and lobby, goes up along with door frames. | ||

| March 10th - First steel assembled on ground; walls growing | ||

| March 13th - First set of steel building frames erected | ||

| March 14th - A pair of cranes were used to erect more of the roof structure, much to the delight of the preschool kids. | ||

| March 15th - The frame of the building takes shape | ||

| March 16th - The kitchen roof structure is in place | ||

| March 29th - The lobby ceiling structure, first brick, and first roof panel are in place. | ||
|

| April 1st - The roof is over one-quarter finished; the kitchen exterior walls and front porch posts are going up. | ||

||
| April 3rd - The kitchen exterior walls near completion. | ||
|
|
||
| April 6th - The front roof structure is constructed. | ||
|
|
||
| April 15th - North wall brick goes up; front of building insulation; second half of metal roof goes on. | ||
|
||
| April 23rd - Kitchen exterior brick complete; parking lot island curbs poured. | ||
|
||
| May 16th - Roof completed except ridge, brickwork underway on south side, parking lot gravel being spread. | ||
|
||
| May 21st - Roof completed, brickwork underway on south side, parking lot and driveway gravel spread. | ||
|
||
| June 3rd - Brick nearly complete, windows & front glass doors installed, driveway nearly done. | ||
|
||
| June 20th - Brick complete, windows & doors installed, utilities ready to connect. | ||
|
||
| July 27th - Exterior complete: Hood vents installed, stucco applied, light poles installed, electricity connected. | ||
|
||
| August 9th - columns installed; sidewalks being poured. | ||
|
||
| October 15th - building 'substantially complete' and in YPC possession. | ||
|
||
| November 18th - project completed with landscaping installed | ||
