David completed Princeton Theological Seminary in May 2006, but had not finished the candidacy process required by the Presbyterian Church, USA, until 2007, after he reported to Yorkminster as our Youth Director in August 2006. He accepted the call as Associate Pastor for Youth and Young Adults at Yorkminster, effective 1 November 2007, and was ordained 11 November 2007. His enthusiasm, passion, and excellence have endeared him to not only the youth but also many in the general Yorkminster family. David considers himself a life-long Christian and comes from a family that is committed to the church as well. He is an ordained Deacon in the PCUSA and served as a Seminary Deacon for his campus while in school. He was on the Board of Directors for the Literacy Center and was an A. J. Gordon Scholar at his undergraduate alma mater, Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts. David served two years at a Pastoral Intern/Pastoral Associate for Youth at the Lawrence Road Presbyterian Church in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, and a summer as Pastoral Intern at Fourth Presbyterian Church in Boston. Before attending seminary, David served as the Operations Manager for a family resource center in Attleboro, Massachusetts where he supervised the daily activities of a shelter for homeless families. In 2002, David served as a Chaplain/Part-Time Medical Social Work Intern at San Francisco General Hospital for a few months where he was able to bring a message of hope to patients and their families struggling in both the neurological an AIDS wards. Hobbies include: mountain biking, running, hiking, reading biographies, playing piano and clarinet, watching movies and enjoying long car rides to "nowhere" with his wife Moira. David spent three summers as a white water rafting guide and enjoys any outdoor activity as well as card and board games. He is a dedicated Boston Red Sox fan. |
