Bill Nickels, YPC Interim Pastor

Bill Nickels The Rev. William Nickels III graduated from Franklin and Marshall College and Yale Divinity School. He was ordained by Norfolk Presbytery in 1980. He served Parkview Presbyterian Church in Newport News, and then in 1985 he was called to pastor the Orange Presbyterian Church. After a 20-year tenure there, Bill began a series of intentional interim positions in Suffolk, Virginia, as well as churches in Kinston, Wilson, and Durham, North Carolina. Most recently, he served as the Associate General Presbyter of Baltimore Presbytery, where he has worked with congregations in transition, a program called "Thriving Congregations."

Bill now is pleased to be able to bring his gifts and experience to help YPC make its transition journey. Bill is married to Ann, a health care public relations professional working for a hospital system in Washington-Baltimore. They have two married adult sons—one in Suffolk and the other in Atlanta—and two granddaughters.

Bill began his tenure as intentional interim senior pastor at Yorkminster on January 2, 2018.
